China-Caribbean talks open Tuesday

Representatives from Caribbean Community (CARICOM) countries that have diplomatic relations with China met here Monday ahead of the sixth Caribbean Round of Consultations with Beijing.

A brief statement noted that the meeting, which brought together officials from the Ministries of Foreign Affairs in the Caribbean, discussed priority issues for the region.

The statement said the countries represented at the meeting were Antigua and Barbuda, Guyana, Trinidad and Tobago, Dominica, Suriname, Jamaica and the host country.
