Three workshops and a National Consultation on Marijuana use to be held here next week

St. Vincent and the Grenadines will take its first step in examining the Social, Economic, Health and Legal implications surrounding the use of marijuana with three sets of workshops and a National Consultation.

These sessions are being hosted by Caricom which has established a Regional Commission on Marijuana and are expected to engage all segments of society including the youth, religious bodies, interest groups and the general population.

The workshops will run concurrently on Wednesday June 15, at the Administrative Complex beginning at 9 in the morning.

The first session will be with Faith-based organizations, followed by sessions with interest groups and the youth.

The National Consultation will take the form of a Town Hall meeting and will take place from 7pm at the Methodist Church Hall in Kingstown.

It is expected that consensus from these events will help inform Caricom’s Policy on the use of marijuana and its implications.
