Antigua and Barbuda requests Japan’s help with waste to energy initiative

 
Antigua and Barbuda is requesting assistance from the government of Japan to explore waste to energy conversion, among several other renewable energy initiatives.

Energy Minister Asot Michael, on Monday, held discussions with the Japan-CARICOM Envoy, Ambassador Ken Shimanachi, regarding the country’s interest in exploring sustainable energy sources.

Michael pointed out the country’s interest in adopting sustainable energy solutions, in such areas as waste to energy, and its intentions to replace inefficient lighting and air conditioning systems, and introduce smart metering.
