Guyana says it has signed an agreement with the United Kingdom to enhance cooperation in the fight against drug trafficking.

A brief government statement said the accord was signed between Head of the Presidential Secretariat (HPS), Dr. Roger Luncheon and British High Commissioner, Andrew Ayre, and would facilitate the deepening of ties between the law enforcement agencies of both countries.

It said the agreement “provides for significant technical assistance and training to be extended to Guyanese law enforcement personnel by the Administration of the UK”.
