Grenada, Ecuador Look to Deepen Bilateral Cooperation
Grenada and Ecuador are looking to deepen their bilateral relationship.
Ecuador’s Ambassador to Grenada, Galo Yepez Holguin, met Thursday with Grenada Foreign Minister Nickolas Steele, aiming to “formalize a mechanism of bilateral cooperation” between the two sides, according to a government statement.
The two sides reportedly committed to pursuing cooperation in areas including trade and investment, science and technology, culture, information, sports and tourism.
The government said the two countries, which have had diplomatic relations since 1975, expected to hold “regular consultations” on these and other areas.
Ecuador may be stepping up its interaction with the Caribbean region, where it has most recently been strengthening its relationship with Haiti.
Yepez next travels to Trinidad and Tobago for similar talks.
