Jamaica: la policía hará cumplir la prohibición de fumar en lugares públicos

Police Commissioner, Owen Ellington, says the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) will be playing its part to ensure full compliance with the new regulations, which prohibit smoking in specified public places.

Addressing a press briefing on Monday, July 15, at the Office of the Prime Minister, Mr. Ellington said the police will be doing all it can to promote public conformity with the policy, so that there is no need for arrests.

“It begins with public education, so that our population understands the goodness of this new public policy – that it serves their interest. It also includes education of our members, so that they can concentrate on promoting broad based compliance with the law,
