Barbados: el gobierno prepara medidas para enfrentar la crisis económica

AUGUST 13, will be Budget day in Barbados. It is at that time when Barbadians will hear from the Government’s Chief Economic spokesman, the Minister of Finance and Economic Affairs, Christopher Sinckler, measures to stem the slide in the economy.

As is customary, expectations have been running high about the Budget and what the Minister is likely to bring to Parliament.
Therefore starting at 4 p.m. on that day, Mr. Sinckler will be outlining a series of measures that will seek to correct certain imbalances in Government’s fiscal position, as well, we hope, policies to reverse the negative trends in the economy and point the way towards economic growth in the country.

While like others we wait to see what emerges we can say with a degree of confidence that there will be considerable amount of speculation. This has always been the case and in times like what the world and Barbados are going through, not forgetting the “commentators
